Description BACKGROUND The fundamental mission of UNICEF is to promote the rights of every child, everywhere, in everything the organization does, including programmes, advocacy and operations. Central to the attainment of children’s rights are the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and the principle of leaving no one behind. UNICEF’s equity strategy gives priority to the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families so that every child has the opportunity to survive, develop and reach their full potential. In fragile and humanitarian contexts, UNICEF action is guided by its global policy and framework for humanitarian action, including the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action. The function provides strategic leadership for programme planning, implementation, monitoring, partnerships and the delivery of sustainable results for children. The Deputy Representative (Programmes) serves as the principal adviser to the Representative on programme strategy, Country Office management and the development of policies and approaches aligned with UNICEF’s Strategic Plan, standards of performance, accountability framework, ethics and integrity. UNICEF Sierra Leone requires continuity of senior programme leadership pending confirmation of the applicable staffing or contractual arrangements. UNICEF Sierra Leone therefore intends to contract a specialized institutional company to identify and provide a suitably qualified consultant to serve as Deputy Representative (Programmes), P-5, for the period to be confirmed by the Country Office. Proposals should be submitted by email addressed to: contact@example.gov for technical proposal and contact@example.gov for financial proposal
