Contractor Services - Fall Protection Design, Supply, and Installation at Lynn Valley Village

The Corporation of the District of North Vancouver is seeking qualified organizations for a design-build project to update, add, and install fall protection and access equipment at Lynn Valley Village, located at 1277 Lynn Valley Road. The scope of work encompasses the complete design, supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, and documentation of these systems. The successful contractor must act as the Prime Contractor, ensuring all work complies with the current BC Building Code, WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation Part 11, and the Workers Compensation Act. Key deliverables include shop drawings, operation and service manuals, warranty certificates, and inspection reports. The contractor is required to have at least five years of experience in fall protection design and installation and must provide an in-house or sub-consultant engineer for oversight and review. This is a lump sum contract based on the CCDC 14 Design-Build Stipulated Price Contract (2013 edition), with specific supplementary conditions regarding assignment, confidentiality, and design review. The evaluation process involves a pass/fail mandatory requirements test followed by a detailed evaluation based on the best overall value to the District. Award criteria include a 10 percent weighting for project methodology, construction management, and quality assurance. Financial requirements include the provision of performance and labour and material payment bonds totaling no less than 50 percent of the contract price within 15 working days of execution.
