Countywide Guardrail Upgrades Phase II

Contra Costa County is preparing to upgrade approximately 52 sub-standard Metal Beam Guardrails and install one new guardrail system along multiple roadways in unincorporated West and Central Contra Costa County, including San Pablo Dam Road, Olympic Boulevard, Pleasant Hill Road, Taylor Boulevard, Danville Boulevard, and Relize Valley Road. The project will replace the existing guardrails with the current Caltrans-standard Midwest Guardrail System (MGS), including new end treatments and associated posts, while relocating nearby posts and performing minor grading as needed. Work will involve ground disturbance and excavations up to eight feet deep, removal of up to four trees, and vegetation trimming.
