The contract involves a sole-source procurement by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) for the installation of Sedia Systems Inc. seating at CUNY-Hunter College, located at 695 Park Avenue, New York. This purchase is a one-time transaction with a contract value estimated between $500,000 and $1,500,000, and it is set to conclude by March 25, 2025. The procurement was initiated following a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued in July 2024, which was sent to five authorized resellers under the NYS OGS Contract No. PC70269. Only one responsive quote was received from Intivity, Inc., an MBE-certified firm, which has an established working relationship with DASNY and familiarity with the project site and specifications. The decision to award the contract on a sole-source basis is based on the unique expertise and knowledge of Intivity, particularly their role as the certified reseller and installer of Sedia products, and their prior involvement in developing the furniture specifications. Sedia’s policy requires that its products be installed exclusively by certified resellers, and since Intivity is already authorized under the OGS Contract and has the necessary site knowledge, awarding the contract to them ensures continuity, reduces coordination issues, and maintains compliance with installation requirements. Any inquiries regarding this procurement should be directed to Kevin Towle, the Procurement Administrator at DASNY.

Pursuant to DASNY's Procurement Policy and Guidelines dated January 11, 2023, a purchase order may be awarded as a single source procurement based on consideration of the following factor(s): [...] whether one particular firm has unique knowledge or expertise with respect to the required Goods or Services rendering the use of a Competitive basis method of selection impractical or other material or substantial reasons exist for awarding the Procurement Contract on other than a Competitive basis.  In July, 2024, DASNY issued an RFQ to furnish, deliver and install Sedia Systems Inc. (Sedia) product pursuant to NYS OGS Contract No. PC70269, (OGS Contract). The RFQ was sent to five (5) authorized resellers under the contract. DASNY received only one (1) responsive quote from Intivity, Inc. (Intivity). Sedia requires that its product only be installed by certified Sedia resellers/installers. While there are other resellers of this product, Intivity, an MBE firm, was awarded the OGS Contract portion of the work and has worked with the DASNY PM and Project Architect in further developing the furniture specifications. Intivity is familiar with the site logistics and project requirements. To maintain continuity and avoid costly coordination issues, it is best if Intivity provides the installation for the product they are furnishing and delivering. Reason for advertising exemption: Sole Source Award recipient: Intivity, Inc. Any questions or comments regarding this notice of sole-source, single-source, or procurement otherwise exempt from advertising in the NYS Contract Reporter should be directed to the contact person listed for the contracting agency or public authority. Ad end date:03/25/2025 Contract term: One-time Purchase County(ies): New York Location: CUNY-Hunter College, 695 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10065
