The United States Coast Guard has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking market research and planning input regarding the potential acquisition of a small cutter boat designed for aid to navigation. This RFI, released under FAR Part 10, is strictly informational and does not represent a solicitation for proposals or quotes, nor does it obligate the Government to issue a future contract. Interested parties are invited to review the attached draft specifications and provide feedback on the technical requirements, their manufacturing capabilities, availability of similar products, estimated production timelines, and price ranges. Respondents are also encouraged to submit any additional relevant information or marketing materials but should avoid including proprietary information, as responses will not be returned and no reimbursement for response costs will be provided. Responses must be submitted by December 1, 2011, and must comprehensively address each aspect of the draft specification. The RFI emphasizes that no binding contract will result from the submissions and that not responding will not affect eligibility for any future competitive acquisitions. The point of contact for this opportunity includes designated contract specialists within the Department of Homeland Security, who will manage communications related to this inquiry. The RFI is associated with NAICS code 336612 and is intended to gather industry insights to refine government requirements and inform potential future procurement actions.

USCG - Response Boat, Small Third Generation (RB-S III)
Solicitation # USCG-RB-S-III-2026
The United States Coast Guard is seeking a contractor to design, build, test, and deliver the Response Boat, Small Third Generation (RB-S III) to replace the aging 29-foot RB-S II fleet. This small business set-aside acquisition involves the procurement of up to 400 boats for the USCG and 100 modified variants for other federal agencies. The contractor will be responsible for providing the vessels, trailers, full logistics and supply support, technical documentation, and configuration management. The RB-S III is intended for diverse missions, including search and rescue, migrant interdiction, and law enforcement. The government intends to award up to four Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts with a ten-year ordering period, consisting of a five-year base and a five-year option. The acquisition follows a two-phase methodology: Phase I involves the award of the IDIQ contracts based on technical and conceptual designs, and Phase II requires each awardee to build a demonstration vessel for an in-water evaluation. Ultimately, one contractor will be selected for the remaining production orders. The contracts will utilize Firm-Fixed-Price and Fixed-Price with Economic Price Adjustment line items. Solicitation is expected by the end of Fiscal Year 2026, with awards anticipated in the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2027.
