The Defense Logistics Agency's Enterprise Support Office plans to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order to the Associated Press for software support related to the AP Preserver software. This procurement is conducted under the Federal Acquisition Regulation's Simplified Acquisition Procedures, specifically FAR Part 13, and authorized by FAR Part 6.302-1, which allows for non-competitive contracting when only one source is available. The AP Preserver software is proprietary to the Associated Press, making them the exclusive provider for its support services. Consequently, no solicitation or request for quotes is issued for this requirement. Although this announcement indicates a sole source acquisition, other firms that believe they can meet the requirements may submit a written response within 10 calendar days from the announcement date for government consideration. However, the decision not to compete the purchase order remains solely at the Government's discretion. Interested parties with questions or seeking further information are directed to contact Temple Ferrell at the provided email or phone number. The contract falls under NAICS code 511120, which covers software publishers, and pertains to software maintenance services.
