The United States Postal Service is requesting information from vendors regarding a commercial off-the-shelf fax gateway product that fully integrates with Microsoft's Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server. The desired product must support seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook, allowing users to send faxes directly to contacts within the Global Address Book and distribution lists, both personal and public. In addition to Outlook, the fax gateway should enable fax transmission from various Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio. Compatibility with Research In Motion's BlackBerry PDAs and Onset Technologies' MetaMessage Server is also required. The product must be able to automatically route incoming faxes to users' mailboxes, ideally through Direct Inward Dialing (DID) routing, and provide manual routing options via secretarial or administrative mailboxes. Scalability is important, with the system needing to support up to 3500 users per Exchange Server. Vendors are asked to submit their responses exclusively via USPS mail to the ACE Program Management Office in Raleigh, North Carolina, by February 15, 2002. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
