The contract involves the sole source extension of six consolidated indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) agreements for hardware maintenance services, identified by contract numbers DCA200-99-D-0011 through DCA200-99-D-0016. These contracts, which include a base period and four option periods, are set to expire on March 31, 2004, and the extension will cover up to an additional four months. Services are performed at multiple Defense Enterprise Computing Center locations across the United States, with current contractors being Computer & Hi-Tech Management, Inc. and Communication Technologies, Inc. The contracts pertain to Level II and III hardware maintenance under the NAICS code 811212 and are managed by the Telecommunications Division of the Department of Defense at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The follow-on acquisition of these maintenance services will not be competitively bid, as it has been accepted into Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act program, indicating a preference for small business participation. The sole source extension reflects a continuation of existing service arrangements to ensure uninterrupted hardware maintenance support until a longer-term acquisition strategy is implemented. This approach supports critical defense computing infrastructure by maintaining established performance standards and contractor relationships.
