AI Contract Overview

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation intends to increase the existing level of effort under the current contract for Network Technical Support Services, which covers the base year and four subsequent option years. This augmentation is required to support large pension plans currently being managed by PBGC. The work represents an extension of services already being provided by the incumbent contractor, ensuring continuity and leveraging their existing knowledge and capabilities. The decision to increase effort under the current contract reflects PBGC's preference to maintain consistency and efficiency without issuing a new solicitation. This contract modification is not a new request for proposals but rather an adjustment to the ongoing agreement to accommodate expanded service needs. The work will continue under the original contract number PBGC01-CT-04-0692, with no change in contractor, thereby facilitating a seamless transition and uninterrupted network technical support critical to PBGC’s pension plan operations. Additional details such as the solicitation's presolicitation status and the absence of set-aside classifications indicate this is a procedural amendment rather than a competitive procurement.
