Data Coordinating Center for the Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Mouse Brain Atlas (AD-MBA) (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The National Institutes of Health, under the Department of Health and Human Services, is soliciting applications for a Data Coordinating Center to establish the Aging and Alzheimer's Disease Mouse Brain Atlas (AD-MBA). This center will serve as a centralized research resource designed to integrate and disseminate multiscale multi-omic and connectomic mouse brain datasets generated by the NIA AD Multimodal Atlas Projects (AD-MAPs). Key objectives include leveraging the NIA-supported AD Knowledge Portal for data hosting, developing open-source tools for multiscale integration, facilitating collaborative analyses among contributing teams, and creating a web-based interface for data visualization and querying. The project emphasizes open science and FAIR data principles, requiring the aggregation and harmonization of datasets from at least five AD-MAPs projects. The NIA intends to commit 2.5 million dollars in FY 2027 to fund a single award with a maximum project period of five years. Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, and government entities, though non-domestic entities are ineligible. Evaluation will be based on significance, investigator qualifications, innovation, approach, and environment. Awardees must adhere to strict cybersecurity protocols modeled after the NIST framework, including multifactor authentication and a 48-hour incident notification requirement, and must develop a transition plan for data and SOP transfer at the end of the performance period.
