The District of Columbia Courts system relies on court reporters and tape recordings to document hearings across various judicial proceedings, with transcripts produced either through stenotype machines or audio transcription. Attorneys may obtain copies or originals of these transcripts by submitting requests to the court clerk or court reporters, who are authorized to charge variable fees for transcribing hearing recordings into official deposition transcripts. These fees are governed by the court’s established fee schedule, which is attached to each request processed through the PAST system to ensure consistency and transparency in billing. The procurement forecast, issued by the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, signals an upcoming opportunity for vendors to provide transcription services aligned with the courts’ operational standards, though specific contract details such as solicitation numbers, NAICS codes, or place of performance have not yet been defined.
