This project will partially remove an existing warehouse building (approximately 63,000 square feet) to be replaced. The project will include new construction of a pre-fabricated metal building section to replace the removed section of the existing building and be integrated into the existing building to remain. the existing to remain building portion will be renovated as part of this building design. This facility should be designed to be a modern, multi‑use operational and office complex that consolidates and enhances service delivery for the Department of Public Works (DPW). This project will improve community responsiveness and strengthen service capacity by positioning the majority of the DPW workforce within the primary population district to reduce travel time, increase field coverage, and enhance emergency responsiveness. Approximately 75-80% of the facility will house staff of DPW Utilities while also providing space for other County departments and divisions. The building will also have space available for storage and other uses yet to be determined. Within the campus there are plans to include site features such as parking, a fueling station, salt barn, gravel storage, and other structures.
