DFSBT RFQ Replace ST697G Cargo Trailer / FLEET

The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services is soliciting quotes for the procurement of one 20-foot enclosed utility tandem axle trailer to replace trailer ST697G. The trailer must feature a 10,000lb GVW, an aluminum roof, E-rated load range tires and wheels, and stainless screw-less side panels. Key functional requirements include a rear ramp door with a nonskid surface and assisted cable lift, as well as a curbside walk-through door, both equipped with padlock provisions. Roof bows should ideally be 12 inches on center, though 16 inches on center is acceptable. The trailer must be bright red and strictly adhere to the DFS Lettering package and Vehicle Lettering Guide. Safety requirements include NFPA standard reflective red and yellow chevrons covering at least 50 percent of the rear, DOT reflectors and stripes on the bottom edges, and reflective elements covering at least 25 percent of the front width. Specific markings must include the reversed vehicle height in the top right corner and the fleet number in the lower left corner. This opportunity is designated for the Small Business Purchasing Program, with preference given to SBPP and SDP certified vendors. Non-SBPP businesses will only be considered if an inadequate pool of responsive small business bids is received. All quotes must be submitted via Commbuys by November 3, 2026, and must explicitly state that pricing is per Statewide Contract FAC 116. Quotes must remain valid for 90 days, and the final product must be delivered to the Stow, MA campus no later than May 14, 2027.
