Dockweiler Least Tern Fence Project

The Dockweiler Least Tern Fence Project involves the replacement of approximately 2,500 linear feet of chain link fencing to protect a 7.5 acre colony of federally endangered California least terns in Los Angeles, California. The existing fencing has deteriorated significantly, creating gaps that allow human and predator access, which contributed to the colony's abandonment in 2022. This project is funded by a 2023 grant awarded to the Angeles District to restore the security of the enclosed area.
