Permit No. 19841 –Hinrichsen Levee Stairs and Utilities Project

The Hinrichsen Levee Stairs and Utilities Project, managed by the Central Valley Flood Protection Board in Sacramento, California, involves the installation of concrete steps and utility infrastructure on a levee. The scope of work includes constructing thirty-three 4-foot wide concrete steps on the landside slope with an accompanying handrail, and twenty-four 4-foot wide concrete steps on the waterside slope. The project also requires the installation of a three-quarter inch PVC water pipe and a double-walled electrical conduit buried at least 24 inches deep, running from the landside toe, across the crown, and down to the waterside. Additional components include an emergency shutoff valve on the landside hinge and 18 pop-up sprinkler heads equipped with a leak detection sensor. To complete the project, natural grasses and wildflowers will be planted as ground cover.
