The Department of Homeland Security U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Acquisition is utilizing a Commercial Solutions Opening procedure to acquire innovative Non-Intrusive Inspection Anomaly Detection Algorithms. This non-FAR based acquisition mechanism is designed to streamline the procurement of commercial items, technologies, and services that are either new or adaptations of existing methods. The solicitation process is multi-phased, beginning with the submission and evaluation of a written solution brief, which may include oral presentations or technical demonstrations, followed by a request for full proposal submissions. Awards resulting from this effort are intended to be made through Fiscal Year 2024, and all successful recipients must be registered in the System for Award Management. Separately, the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services conducted a procurement under solicitation number 23-0001 for the manufacture and delivery of buoy tags for the Department of Fish and Wildlife. This contract involves a 60-month term with estimated annual purchases of 125,000 dollars for sturdy, flexible, individually numbered tags designed for marine environments. The procurement process required strict adherence to material specifications, Pantone color matching, and the submission of physical samples. The final agreement includes performance metrics regarding order accuracy and lead times, with pricing adjustments tied to the Producer Price Index.
