BC Timber Sales (BCTS), a program within the Ministry of Forests, is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced firms to provide professional terrain stability and geoscience services in support of BCTS forest road engineering and timber sale development programs within Coastal British Columbia. The services will be provided on both a planned and “as and when required” basis and will support operations across multiple BCTS business area offices and Ministry of Forests district offices.The required services may include, but are not limited to, terrain stability field assessments, identification and assessment of terrain hazards related to timber harvesting and forest road construction, maintenance and deactivation, emergency terrain stability response, terrain risk assessments at site and watershed scales, construction inspections, remediation or repair recommendations, and specialized assessments such as karst evaluations. The successful contractor will work in a range of operating environments, including remote locations, and will support BCTS objectives related to safety, environmental protection, regulatory and certification compliance, and the sustainable development of Crown timber resources.
