The NYC Health Department is a recipient of funding for the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. (EHE) – Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) Parts A and B initiative as administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)’s Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). These funds are intended to support effective and innovative strategies, interventions, approaches, and services to reduce new HIV infections in NYC. This includes supporting clinical and non-clinical providers within community-based and medical organizations throughout the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens to meet the needs of people with HIV and those vulnerable to contracting HIV. The NYC Health Department oversees the procurement and monitoring of EHE-funded subrecipients through an agreement with Public Health Solutions (PHS), a private non-profit organization, which procures and administers EHE-funded subrecipient awards in NYC on behalf and at the direction of the NYC Health Department. Despite efforts to improve HIV outcomes, disparities persist among New Yorkers. PHS on behalf of the NYC Health Department, will request proposals from eligible applicants to implement three programs: 1) Be Into Health, 2) Enhanced Data to Care, and 3) Expanded Emergency Financial Assistance.
