The Kenton County Airport Board is seeking proposals from qualified on-call traffic and transportation engineering design consultants to support various federally funded projects at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport through 2027. The scope includes providing traffic engineering, transportation planning, and related design, construction, technical, and professional services for multiple projects, such as the South Airfield Tunnel Rehabilitation and CVG Terminal Bridge Rehabilitation. The selected firms will demonstrate their expertise and experience in handling projects funded by agencies like the FAA, FHWA, and KYTC, with the possibility of partnering with sub-consultants to deliver comprehensive services. The contract awarded will be non-exclusive, allowing KCAB to issue separate solicitations for additional projects or services as needed, and firms must perform all work under the specified federal and state funding requirements. The RFQ emphasizes that the lead firm will be responsible for contract management and project execution, with prior approval required for any subcontractors beyond those initially proposed. The solicitation, posted on November 14, 2024, with a response deadline of December 12, 2024, is open to firms capable of delivering services within a contract size ranging from five million to twenty million dollars. Interested firms are encouraged to review the detailed project list and submit their proposals accordingly, with the primary contact being the Procurement Administration at CVG Airport. This opportunity aims to identify experienced engineering and planning firms capable of supporting critical infrastructure projects at the airport over the coming years.

The Kenton County Airport Board (“KCAB”) is soliciting proposals for on-call traffic / transportation engineering design consultants to provide as-needed traffic engineering, transportation planning, and related design, construction, technical and professional services for various federally eligible projects at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (“CVG”). Several roadways, ground transportation, and transportation related structural projects are planned at CVG through 2027. The overview provided in this RFQ is intended to convey a general scope of services so that each respondent might address its experience and present its expertise in dealing with the services requested in its response. The number of firms selected will be based on KCAB’s assessment of need and qualifications/types of services provided by the firms. KCAB intends to utilize these services on a variety of upcoming anticipated projects utilizing separate funding types, including but not limited to all FAA, FHWA, and KYTC/Kentucky funding types. These services may consist of, but are not limited to, the following immediate projects planned for 2024 – 2027: Project A: South Airfield Tunnel Rehabilitation; Project B; CVG Terminal Bridge Rehabilitation. This RFQ includes a list of potential projects and is not necessarily exhaustive and is subject to change by KCAB. Any contract awarded as a result of this RFQ is non-exclusive and KCAB reserves the right to issue individual procurement solicitations for the services listed in this RFQ for these and/or any other projects. It is expected, but not required, that firms will partner with different sub-consultants to propose a team to provide the range of services for the purpose of responding to this RFQ. For purposes of this RFQ, KCAB considers the engineering or planning firm the lead firm. As a result, the engineering or planning firm will be the party named in the contract. Since this RFQ is intended for Federally and State eligible funding sources, the original team will be required to perform all projects under these funding sources. Following the contract award, the use of any subcontractor other than the teaming partners identified in the proposal response must have the prior approval of KCAB before any work is performed.
