Enhancing Services and Decreasing Stress for Caregivers and the Persons Living with Dementia (PLWD) in their Care

The New Jersey Department of Human Services, through the Division of Aging Services, is offering a grant opportunity titled Enhancing Services and Decreasing Stress for Caregivers and the Persons Living with Dementia (PLWD) in their Care. The program aims to make New Jersey more dementia-capable by expanding the Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers (SBP) statewide to improve the lived experience of PLWD and their caregivers. The state intends to provide seven awards of up to 50,000 dollars each, with each award covering one county. However, Camden, Gloucester, and Sussex counties are explicitly ineligible for these awards. The anticipated period of performance is from December 1, 2026, to September 29, 2027. Eligible applicants must be governmental entities or not-for-profit organizations. To qualify, applicants must be in good standing with the Department of Human Services, demonstrate fiscal viability through audited financial statements, and not appear on the State of New Jersey Consolidated Debarment Report. Additionally, applicants must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:14-34.4 et seq. and adhere to DHS Contract Policy and Information Manual Policy Circular 8.05 regarding conflicts of interest. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the State’s System for Administering Grants Electronically (SAGE) by 3:00pm on October 22, 2026. Late or paper submissions will not be accepted.
