Specialized Disposable GlovesThe National Institutes of Health, under the Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking information on the availability of small business sources capable of supplying specialized disposable gloves required for high-risk clinical, research, laboratory, animal care, and facility-support operations. DIABETES MOLECULAR GENETICS SECTION CELL SORTERThe Diabetes Molecular Genetics Section of the Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch within the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases is seeking a BD FACSMelody Cell Sorter with three lasers and nine-color capability to advance research on stem cell-derived pancreatic islet organoids. These organoids contain multiple cell types, and precise isolation of specific populations is critical for accurate analysis, as mixed cultures yield unclear or misleading data. While single-cell sequencing can identify individual cells, it is prohibitively expensive and impractical for routine use. The proposed cell sorter will enable researchers to efficiently separate cells based on surface protein markers using fluorescent labeling, allowing for high-resolution analysis of cell identity, maturation, and responses to experimental conditions while significantly reducing dependency on costly sequencing methods. The solicitation, numbered 75N98026Q00841BDBIO, was posted on July 21, 2026, with a response deadline of July 30, 2026, and is classified as a presolicitation under NAICS code 334516. No set-aside provisions apply, and the contract is being procured by the National Institutes of Health under the Department of Health and Human Services. The primary point of contact is Vishnuvajjala Hanumanth Rao, reachable at vishnuh@mail.nih.gov, with both the awarding office and performance location based in Bethesda, Maryland, 20892. The acquisition aims to equip the laboratory with a high-performance sorting instrument essential for ongoing studies in diabetes molecular genetics, improving experimental efficiency and data reliability.
