EV Charging Stations on Central San Properties

The Central Contra Costa Sanitary District is initiating a project to design and install electric vehicle charging stations at its facilities as part of its Fleet Electrification Strategic Plan. This initiative supports the agency's net zero goal and ensures compliance with the California Air Resource Board's Advanced Fleets Regulation and Governor's Executive Order N-79-20. The project involves granting easements to PG&E to allow for the installation and maintenance of electric vehicle service connections and related infrastructure. Initial installations are scheduled for the Moraga and San Ramon Pump Stations, the Collection System Operations facility, and the wastewater treatment plant located within Contra Costa County. To streamline the implementation of this plan, a resolution has been proposed to delegate authority to the General Manager or a designee to execute these and future grants of easement for charging stations that will be used exclusively by Central San vehicles. District Counsel has reviewed and approved the easement drafts and the delegation of authority. The project has received a Notice of Exemption under CEQA guidelines, indicating that the work involves minor alterations with no significant environmental impact. All work must adhere to applicable federal, state, and local laws, including specific environmental considerations for protecting trees and riparian areas.
