Exclusive Use Light Fixed Wing ATGS Platform

The Government has cancelled the National Air Attack Platform solicitation due to insufficient detail in the technology portion, which hindered prospective offerors from fully understanding the requirements. As a result, this portion will be scaled back and one line item will be separated into a standalone solicitation specifically supporting the Aerial Firefighting Use and Effectiveness (AFUE) mission. The remaining three line items will be reissued under a new solicitation number in the coming months. The original solicitation, titled Exclusive Use Light Fixed Wing ATGS Platform, was issued by the USDA Forest Service and posted in September 2015. The cancellation reflects the Government’s efforts to clarify and better define the project’s scope to ensure that offerors can properly respond. The USDA Forest Service expressed appreciation for the engagement and inquiries received during the initial phase and encourages continued communication through the designated Contracting Officer, Jeffrey T. McGinley. The solicitation falls under NAICS code 481212 and relates to specialized aerial platforms for fire management. The resubmitted solicitation will provide a clearer, more focused opportunity for industry participation aligned with the Government’s objectives for aerial firefighting capabilities.
