Full Description

The objective of this Task Order is to conduct research that will enable FHWA to update the Traffic Noise Model with new abatement strategies that can then be evaluated for noise reductions and cost just like noise barriers can be in the current model. To do this, the Contractor will perform a review of available data for the following four (4) noise abatement strategies: quieter pavements, rumble/mumble strips, barrier tops, and vegetation. The contractor will use this research to identify data collection gaps, prepare a plan to fill those gaps, and execute the plan to collect the data.
