The County of Riverside Purchasing, on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office (RSO), Aviation Unit, is seeking competitive bids for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified flight simulator training for Inadvertent Entry into Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IIMC) and emergency procedures as detailed in this RFQ. The Aviation Unit’s helicopter fleetconsists of three (3) Airbus AS350B3/H125, two (2) Airbus AS350B3e/H125, and one (1) Airbus BK117D-2 helicopters. Our helicopters are utilized for day and nighttime patrol, specialized support flights, and search and rescue operations throughout Riverside County’s 7,300 square miles. Presently, there are ten (10) commercially rated helicopter pilots within the Unit. On an as needed basis, each pilot will complete FAA certified flight simulator training for the Airbus AS350B3/H125 helicopters.
