AI Contract Overview
The Naval Air Systems Command at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, plans to award a sole-source order to General Electric Aerospace under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-25-G-0004 for the procurement of Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) Version 5.0 software. This action is justified under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, as the government has determined that only General Electric Aerospace can provide the required software due to its unique, proprietary design and integration with existing defense aviation systems, with no other supplier capable of meeting the specific technical and operational needs. The contract is being processed as a presolicitation with the solicitation number N00019-25-RFPREQ-APM261-0312, and responses are due by May 29, 2026. The work will be performed at General Electric Aerospace’s facility in Lynn, Massachusetts, with the NAICS code 336412 applicable to aircraft engine and engine parts manufacturing. Primary point of contact for the contract is Kristin Furfaro, with Christopher J. Harritt as the secondary contact, both reachable through their official Navy email addresses. Subcontracting opportunities are available and should be directed to Brandie Roets, Director of Government Contracts at General Electric Aerospace, via email at Brandie.Roets@geaerospace.com. This procurement is not subject to any small business or other set-aside provisions, and the government is proceeding with a single-source negotiation exclusively with General Electric Aerospace due to the specialized nature of the FADEC V5.0 software and its critical role in maintaining operational readiness of naval aviation platforms.
