The contractor shall perform efforts, in accordance with OD 61988, in order to mitigate risks in the FC development, production and support programs. These efforts shall include commonality investigations and engineering services which directly support the Fire Control SSP Shipboard Increment (SSI) program. Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Pittsfield, MA. GDAIS is the sole manufacturer of the TRIDENT (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and Attack Weapons Control System and the only source with the in-depth knowledge, expertise, and in-place capability to perform the required effort.
