FFA Sierra Nevada Communications, FIBER 108 – Upper Phase

Sierra Nevada Communications plans to deploy a fiber-optic network to connect approximately 515 unserved locations in the communities of Peter Pam and Cold Springs, California, with service expected to benefit an estimated population of 215 residents. The project will include the installation of four miles of last-mile fiber and eight miles of middle-mile fiber, all constructed aerially, to deliver symmetrical broadband speeds of up to 5,000/5,000 Mbps to households. While there are roughly 740 unserved units in the broader project area, the current phase targets a subset of these, focusing on areas with the greatest need for connectivity. The initiative is part of a broader effort to close the digital divide in rural California and is being coordinated under the oversight of the California Public Utilities Commission, with Lisa S Cooke serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory matters.
