The University of North Carolina Greensboro is soliciting bids under solicitation number LK261003 for a vendor to manage the testing, inspection, and repair of fire protection sprinklers across 54 academic and facilities buildings totaling over 2 million square feet. The selected vendor must ensure full compliance with NFPA 25 standards, North Carolina and Federal Fire Protection Building Codes, and the North Carolina State Construction Office. To minimize disruptions to academic learning spaces, inspections are split into two annual cycles occurring in May and December, with the requirement that the vendor coordinate tests concurrently. Key deliverables include electronic comprehensive reports, a bound book of signed NFPA forms, and the physical tagging and dating of sprinkler risers for insurance and fire marshal records. The contract features an initial two-year term with the option for the state to renew for up to three additional one-year terms. Award decisions will be based on the lowest responsive bid that meets all specifications, with evaluations considering completeness, cost, and the vendor's responsibility, including past performance and financial stability. Vendors must be registered in North Carolina and in good standing, providing an eVP number and adhering to strict submission guidelines via the Electronic Vendor Portal by November 19, 2026. All work must comply with OSHA and EPA guidelines for safety and waste disposal, and payment is contingent upon the acceptance of services by a Facilities Operations representative.

The University of North Carolina Greensboro’s (UNCG) Facilities Operations department is searching for a Vendor to provide compliance with the North Carolina and Federal Fire Protection Building Codes, North Carolina State Construction Office, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) test and inspections of the fire protection sprinklers. UNCG’s Academic and Facilities Buildings include 54 buildings and consist of over 2 million square feet. These facilities are primarily academic learning spaces. As a result, there are limited durations of vacancies to schedule intrusive interruptions to the systems. There is one (1) annual inspection for each building. Half of the buildings are performed in December and the other half in May. The intent is for the testing Vendor to coordinate all required tests and inspections concurrently to alleviate multiple interruptions.
