Flock Safety Automated License Plate Reading (ALPR) Camera Installation Project

Riverside County is preparing to install Flock Safety automated license plate reading (ALPR) cameras to support the Riverside Sheriff’s Department in enhancing public safety through improved vehicle detection and law enforcement capabilities. The project involves mounting ALPR cameras and solar panels onto existing Caltrans poles using band clamp attachments without any ground disturbance, alongside the installation of new X2 Redi-Torque breakaway poles with minimal foundational disruption. These systems are designed to identify license plates linked to criminal activity, enabling timely interception of suspect vehicles and strengthening law enforcement response.
