PROJECT OVERVIEW a) Project Background: Parks South is responsible for the operation of various provincial parks, provincial recreation areas and day use areas. The Park requires a contractor(s) to complete cleaning and maintenance in some parks within the South West Area, including the Police Outpost and St Mary Reservoir, where operations activities have recently returned to Parks South. This RFP opportunity may be awarded to multiple Contractors depending on proposals received. b) Project Objective: The South West Area Contract Manager has the responsibility for ensuring that all campgrounds and other public access areas are cleaned in a timely and effective manner to ensure that visitor needs are met. To achieve this goal, the Park will engage with a contractor(s) in a service model that requires scheduled tasks as well as on-demand cleaning which would ensure the best service and value for money for the Province, while minimizing duplication and miscalculation by the contractor. This model requires the Contractor Manager (or a delegate) to inform the Contractor(s) of a service requirement and when it must be completed by (either on a scheduled or on-demand basis). The Contractor(s) completes the service and provides a monthly invoice which outlines the specific service executed, location and date, as shown in Schedule B2 of this RFP. When the Contract Manager advises the Contractor(s) of the services to perform, the Contractor(s) may provide additional information about other services that could be carried out in the area. The Contractor(s) will then respond to the Contractor Manger instructions accordingly.
