Full Description
Subject to the availability of funds, the U. S. Department of Labor's Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) intends to award, through a competitive process, 3 cooperative agreements of a combined $9,000,000 total cost to fund projects with the objective of supporting First Lady Melania Trump's Fostering the Future Together (FTFT) Global Coalition goals by advancing child well-being, online protection, and positive youth development globally. The projects will be implemented in three Fostering the Future Together Coalition Member countries.
Outcome(s)
• Ensure children below the domestic minimum age for work who are at high risk of child labor or recently withdrawn from child labor are encouraged to enroll or maintain enrollment in high-quality, age-appropriate education technology (EdTech) programs.
• Connect youth of legal working age to safe, market-relevant apprenticeship and skills training opportunities that support dignified employment, with a focus on digital skills and the introduction of America EdTech tools and training.
• Develop and implement child-centered online safety protocols, tools, and training modules tailored for educators, parents, and children with specific attention on child labor and predatory practices.
• Strengthen the capacity of national and local governments to prevent online exploitation, enforce child labor laws, and respond effectively to emerging digital threats.
• Work with existing commitments of the country's National Government and priorities of the First Spouse under the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition.
• Partner with private sector stakeholders to promote sustainable, market-driven solutions to child labor and online exploitation risks.
