The Bridgeton Board of Education is seeking proposals from qualified distributors to supply fresh, locally grown food products for the district’s Food Service Department during the 2024-2025 school year. The primary goal is to establish a contract with a single vendor, although multiple vendors may be considered if deemed in the best interest of the district. The district also intends to leverage the Local Food for Schools Grant if available to support this initiative. The selected distributor(s) must demonstrate expertise in providing fresh, locally sourced produce, including advice on introducing new fruits and vegetables into Child Nutrition Programs such as the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP). Timely delivery within agreed timeframes and flexibility to accommodate order changes within 24 hours are essential requirements. Proposals must include evidence of the distributor’s experience and organizational capacity to fulfill the contract, with particular emphasis on their ability to deliver locally grown produce reliably.
