Garberville Community Hospital and Medical Office Building Project

The Southern Humboldt Community Healthcare District is proposing the construction of a new hospital and medical office building totaling 49,728 square feet across two stories, along with a helistop, on approximately 3.52 acres of land identified by Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 032-091-014 through -019 and 032-171-019 at 286 Sprowel Creek Road in Garberville, California. This project will replace the existing Jerold Phelps Community Hospital and Southern Humboldt Community Clinic located on Cedar Street and Elm Street in Garberville, with the Skilled Nursing Unit remaining at the current Cedar Street facility. The project includes sample collection and preservation protocols for metals and volatile organic analytes using 500ml plastic bottles and QA/QC procedures requiring LCS recovery within 85–115%.
