Genome Sequencing LIMS

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order to Genologics Life Sciences Software Inc. in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The contract is for the purpose of specialized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to support the Genome Sequencing Laboratory (GSL) and Influenza Sequencing Activity (ISA) DNA sequencing efforts. Genologics is the only known vendor able to provide real-time instrument run statistics for the CDC's Illumina instruments (more than half of CDC's NGS instruments) through their proprietary relationship with Illumina. Genologics is the Preferred Partner for LIMS integration with Illumina DNA sequencing instruments, whose NGS instruments come pre-built with custom code exclusively for integration with the Genologics product. Genologics provides out of the box preconfigured workflows for all of the CDC's NGS instruments and analysis protocols including the Pacific Biosciences RSII. The authority for this sole source is FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 541511. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. However, companies that believe they can provide real-time instrument run statistics for the CDC's Illumina instruments must submit written notification of interest and capability to the Contracting Specialist within fifteen (15) days from the publication date of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
