The Project is located at the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487. The work is exterior at the south plaza along S 7th Street. The work consists of soils correction, earthwork, partial concrete walls and footings, granite cladding on concrete walls, lighting, and landscaping. The Project must be substantially completed by October 15, 2027.
The Veterans Monument project consists of a circular brick-paved gathering space with a central circular Peace Garden. There is a monument sign with granite base and granite top with engraved text near the Peace Garden. There are two concrete walls with granite cladding and granite caps at the north end of the paved area. The walls will serve as the base for artistprovided and artist-installed steel sculptures. The artist-installed steel sculpture will be attached to the concrete walls with anchor bolts provided by and installed by artist. The Granite stone panels facing the peace garden will have engraved text. Linear lights will accent the steel sculpture and granite text panels.
The granite material must be purchased from Coldspring USA, to match existing granite onsite. (See quote for this project from Coldspring USA, marked as Exhibit 3.) Coldspring anticipates a 30-week lead time for delivery of the granite and is responsible for delivery of the stone to the site on a flatbed truck.
Contractor will be responsible for unloading granite onsite and is hereby notified that it must have sufficient equipment on-site on the delivery date to unload the granite from Coldspring’s flatbed truck.
Paving units will be furnished by Hennepin County; however, Contractor is responsible for transporting the pavers from the Hennepin County Public Works in Medina to the project site.
