AI Contract Overview
The Government Center Veteran’s Monument project, identified by bid number FC00000218, is a public facilities initiative led by Hennepin County in Minneapolis, Minnesota, located at 300 6th Street. The work involves exterior construction at the south plaza along S 7th Street and includes soils correction, earthwork, concrete walls and footings, granite cladding with engraved text, linear lighting, and landscaping. The centerpiece is a circular brick-paved gathering space featuring a central Peace Garden, two concrete walls with granite caps designed to support artist-installed steel sculptures anchored by bolts installed by the artist, and granite monoliths with inscriptions. All granite must be sourced exclusively from Coldspring USA to match existing onsite stone, with a 30-week lead time for delivery; the contractor is responsible for unloading the stone upon arrival on a flatbed truck. Hennepin County will provide paving units but the contractor must transport them from their storage facility in Medina to the site. The bid process follows a Two Step Unsealing methodology with a clarification deadline of June 5, 2026, and a final submission due date of June 17, 2026. Bidders must register through ProcureWare and direct all bid-related inquiries via the platform’s clarification tab, while technical questions about ProcureWare should be sent to mary.knickerbocker@hennepin.us. Two non-mandatory but encouraged bid events are scheduled: a virtual pre-proposal meeting on May 27, 2026, and a site walkthrough on June 2, 2026, requiring compliance with current Hennepin County COVID-19 protocols including vaccination, testing, and masking policies. The project must be substantially completed by October 15, 2027, and contractors must be prepared to meet multiple construction classifications including masonry, concrete, earthmoving, wall finishes, and landscape improvements. Printed plan sets are available from ARC Document Solutions, and all bid documents are accessible exclusively through the ProcureWare portal.
