Hennepin Avenue Suspension Bridge Rehabilitation - Rebid

Hennepin County is soliciting bids for the rehabilitation of Bridge Numbers 27538 and 27636 at the Hennepin Avenue Suspension Bridge, located on County State Aid Highway No. 52 in Minneapolis. The scope of work includes mill and overlay, painting, expansion and modular joint replacement, cable re-wrapping, bearing and gland replacement, and sidewalk repair. The project spans approximately 0.37 miles between N 1st St and NE Main St. All work must be performed in accordance with the 2025 Edition of the MnDOT Standard Specifications for Construction and comply with Minnesota prevailing wage statutes. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder who meets all proposal requirements. Bidders must submit their proposals electronically via ProcureWare, including a non-collusion declaration and a first-tier subcontractor list. For contracts exceeding 100,000 dollars, the apparent low bidder must provide an approved Affirmative Action Plan and a Utilization Plan detailing a 10 percent goal for both Small Minority Business Enterprises and Small Women Business Enterprises. The successful contractor is required to provide payment and performance bonds equal to the contract amount within seven calendar days of the Notice of Intent to Award. Quality control is the responsibility of the contractor, while quality assurance is managed by the agency, with specific inspection requirements for materials such as elastomeric bearing pads and dry mix shotcrete.
