Scope of Work (SOW)


1. Purpose: The purpose of this Scope of Work (SOW) is to define a performance-based specification to calibrate granite surface tables for the Rock Island Arsenal's Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (JMTC).  The work shall be performed by an ISO 17025 accredited vendor shall include the inspection, calibration, and lapping/repair of the tabletops of any that are not within specification.


2. Invoices for services must include a breakout of all costs and must be submitted to the JMTC Representative for review and concurance after services are completed.  This is to verify that the invoices are in line with the contract prices and JTR approved prices.


3. Performance Period: Contractor’s effort will begin immediately after Contract/Task Order award.  This will be for a Base year and Four Option Years for a total of five years.

4.1  Per ASME B89.3.7 the ISO 17025 accredited contractor shall inspect the granite surface plates and determine both its overall and local flatness.  If necessary, the contractor will lap the working surface back to within specification standards.


4.2 Calibration and any necessary lapping shall be performed on an annual basis.


4.3 After the granite surface plate has been calibrated, the contractor shall affix a calibration sticker to the granite surface plate and provide a Service Acceptance Report (SAR) to the JMTC Representative within three (3) business days of completing the calibration.


5. Working Hours: 0600-1430 hours, Monday-Friday, Government Holidays excluded, unless otherwise authorized, and agreed upon, prior to deviation of the work schedule.


6. Security: The RIA-JMTC is an Army installation subject to Department of Defense safeguards, various precautions, and plant protection measures.  At all times during the execution of this SOW, the contractor will maintain adequate plant protection devices to minimize espionage, sabotage, and other malicious destruction and damage.  The contractor shall comply with all security requirements of the Rock Island Arsenal.


7.   Final acceptance inspection shall be performed by the JMTC Representative to verify that all requirements of this SOW (and any modifications thereto) are satisfied.
