Full Description

This is a pre-solicitation synopsis in accordance with FAR Part 5. The United States Coast Surface Forces Logistics Center has a requirement for Grit Removal Services. The Governement anticipates awarding a requirements type contract for one base year and four (4) one (1) year options. The NAICS code for this requirement is 562111 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. All work will be performed at the U.S. Coast Guard Yard, Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD. The performance of work is as follows: The work will occur in the tanks, bilge areas, interior compartments, exterior decks, dry dock floors. After Removal of sand blasting grit from designated areas, the Contractor shall vacuum clean to leave in a broom swept condition ensuring all grit is removed from behind angles, under foundations, drums, in and around buildings. The Contractor is required to follow 29 CFR 1915 (OSHA Shipyard Industry Standard). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which, if timely received and in accordance with the solicitation, shall be considered by this agency. The estimated date the solicitation will be issued 24 July 2012. Responses shall be concise and be specifically directed to the requirement referenced above. It is the offerors responsibility to monitor FedBizOpps for changes or amendments to this notice.
