The U.S. Army CECOM Acquisition Center in Washington, in collaboration with the Project Manager for Close Combat Systems, is organizing a Pre-Solicitation conference for the Ground Standoff Mine Detection Future Combat Systems (GSTAMIDS FCS) System Development and Demonstration (SDD) Program. This conference aims to provide interested parties with an in-depth overview of the GSTAMIDS FCS program ahead of the release of draft solicitation documents and the formal request for proposals. Key documents such as a draft Statement of Work and Performance Specification are anticipated to be available around mid-May 2003, with the final Request for Proposals expected by mid-June 2003. The conference will be held on April 30, 2003, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Fort Belvoir Community Club in Virginia. Due to restricted access at Fort Belvoir, attendees must comply with entry requirements including proper vehicle registration and presentation of identification. Interested companies were instructed to submit participant information by April 28, 2003, to designated contacts within the acquisition office. For additional inquiries, the contracting officer was made available to provide further assistance. This pre-solicitation event serves as a key opportunity for contractors to engage directly with the government and better understand acquisition objectives and requirements prior to formally submitting proposals.
