The contract pertains to grounds maintenance services initially announced through a Request for Proposals (RFP) numbered SSA-RFP09-GROUND09, scheduled for release around October 2008 with proposals due within 30 calendar days. The solicitation was a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 561730, managed by the Social Security Administration’s Office of Acquisition and Grants in Baltimore, Maryland, with performance to occur in Richmond, California. Communication restrictions were emphasized, clearly stating that no hard copies would be mailed or faxed, and email or telephone inquiries would not be acknowledged. On October 22, 2008, the original solicitation was canceled entirely, and a new synopsis was issued under a different reference number, SSA-RFP-R9-2906, with the same strict communication guidelines. The contracting office point of contact for this solicitation was LaTanya Evans-Tate, a Contract Specialist reachable via email and phone, based on the original posting. The amendment and cancellation reflect administrative adjustments to the procurement process, ensuring interested parties refer to the updated solicitation for current requirements and submission instructions. Overall, this contract highlights the importance of closely monitoring formal announcements and adhering strictly to designated communication channels for federal solicitations.
