Solicitation # FA3010SUASBASHRADAR
The Department of Defense is conducting market research via a sources sought announcement to identify potential providers for an integrated Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) detection and Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) radar system for Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. The objective is to establish a standalone airspace awareness system that utilizes a closed-loop, air-gapped, dedicated dark-fiber VLAN architecture to provide a unified Common Operating Picture. The system must be capable of tracking at least 100 simultaneous targets from surface level up to 5,000 feet AGL, with specific detection requirements for Group 1 and 2 sUAS and individual bird/wildlife targets. Interested parties must submit a response by 3:00 PM CST on November 2, 2026, including a written capability statement, company metadata, and confirmation of their ability to meet the Performance Work Statement. Key technical requirements include a false negative rate of less than 10 percent for sUAS and a high reliability rate for detecting qualifying targets. Compliance with UFC 3-260-01 and AFMAN 13-204 airfield standards is mandatory, and the government may utilize best value procurement focusing on key personnel as an evaluation factor.
