The government plans to proceed with a sole source procurement to DYWIDAG Systems International (DSI) for the provision of hardware and services necessary to support the fabrication and technology demonstration related to the repair and retrofit of trunnion anchors at the ERDC test bed facility in Vicksburg, Mississippi. This work involves the installation of three anchor rods by removing the existing rods, stripping off the current corrosion protection system, and installing new rods with an updated corrosion protection protocol. The existing test bed, a reinforced concrete mock-up of a tainter gate pier, already contains DYWIDAG hardware installed in 2012. DSI is uniquely qualified as they are the only source able to supply the DYWIDAG anchor rods and have developed the replacement method and corrosion protection system necessary for continuing research on this technology. While this notification indicates a sole source intent under applicable federal regulations, the agency encourages all responsible parties to submit capability statements by the stated deadline for consideration. This action is not a solicitation or a request for proposals but serves to inform potential sources of the opportunity and to document the justifications for the sole source acquisition. The contract relates to NAICS code 238120 and falls under the purview of the Department of Defense office in Louisville, Kentucky. The deadline for capability submissions is 4:00 PM Eastern Time on February 25, 2015.
