Title: Halifax MCTS Structure Cabling Replacement
Location: 10 Hudson Way, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 3Z8
Background:
The Marine Communications and Traffic Services (MCTS) Halifax facility requires the installation of new CAT6a structured cabling to enhance system reliability and network efficiency. The existing Telco 24-pair cabling no longer meets current industry standards and must be replaced. The scope of work includes the routing, securing, and termination of new structured cabling between the New External Patching Rack and various locations throughout the MCTS Building, as well as the Internal Patching Racks in the Equipment Room. Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) personnel will be responsible for testing and certifying all installed cables to ensure compliance with modern networking requirements.
The work includes:
1. Installation of CAT6a structured cabling from the External Patching Rack 27 to the designated locations in MCTS and Internal Patching Racks 26 and 24 to Existing Racks inside the Equipment Room.
2. Routing and securing of cables to maintain compliance with industry standards.
3. Termination at patch panels in accordance with the Cable Installation Table.
4. Cables must pass testing and certification of all installed cables to TIA-568-C.2 standards.
The Contractor must perform and complete all work by March 11, 2026.
