AI Contract Overview
This contract involves providing herbicide application services across various drainage ditches, bridges, and culverts throughout DeSoto County, Florida, for an initial period of one year with up to four renewal options. The contractor is responsible for supplying all labor, equipment, chemicals, and traffic control measures necessary to perform targeted vegetation control, including herbicide treatment of ditch bottoms, bridge approaches, slopes, and culvert channels, with specific instructions to minimize bank vegetation to prevent erosion. The work schedule is preliminarily set for treatments in May, July, and September, but the County retains flexibility to modify dates based on weather and seasonal conditions, and additional locations may be added as needed with mutual agreement on costs. Inspections will be conducted 15 to 20 days after each treatment cycle to assess effectiveness, with follow-up treatments performed if necessary. The contractor must handle all traffic control in compliance with federal and state standards and address any complaints or property damage claims promptly, bearing responsibility for related costs. Payment is made upon successful completion and acceptance of each treatment, with all chemicals accompanied by MSDS sheets. The County emphasizes site inspections prior to bidding and reserves the right to modify the scope, locations, and schedule to optimize results, ensuring clear communication and documentation throughout the process.
