NYSERDA is seeking to enroll eligible retailers and contractors for the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Appliance Upgrade Program, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act through the U.S. Department of Energy. The program provides incentives for income-eligible New York State residents below 150% of the Area Median Income to purchase ENERGY STAR certified appliances and perform necessary electrical wiring and service panel upgrades. The initial launch focuses on heat pump dryers and all-in-one washer-dryers, with plans to expand incentives to induction cooktops, ranges, stoves, and ovens in the future. Eligible participants must be retailers with brick-and-mortar or online platforms selling these certified products to New York customers. Enrolled entities will sign a Participation Agreement to ensure their involvement throughout the program duration, which remains open for applications until December 31, 2026. NYSERDA maintains the authority to modify incentive amounts, structures, and budgets via updates to the Program Manual, and the final implementation of the program is contingent upon final approval from the DOE.
