Full Description

The United States Government Printing Office(GPO)intends to issue a sole source contract to procure a Hot Melt Glue System from Nordson Corporation located at 11475 Lakefield Drive, Duluth, GA 30097. This system will "mirror" the Nordson system already in place. This will also minimize operator and maintenance training requirements. This Norson glue system with the ProBlue 15 melter is required to drive quality improvement of key Congressional and Agency products, including the LSA, the Record Index and CFR's. It will also allow the GPO to use less glue in a more controlled fashion, reducing make-ready time and material usage, and resulting in "greener" operation. The GPO has analogous Nordson glue systems installed, which means that in order to maintain consistent product quality between machines and for ease of maintenance training it is essential tha the Stahl RA 240 Rounding Machine be updated withe the proposed Nordson system with the correctly-sized, user friendly ProBlue 15 melter.
