IFB for vendors to supply supplemental school bus maintenance services

Weston Public Schools is soliciting firm fixed pricing for supplemental preventive maintenance, diagnostic, warranty, and corrective repair services for its student transportation fleet, including school buses (Types A, B, C, and D), multifunction student activity buses, and passenger vans with gasoline, diesel, and electric powertrains. These services will be requested on an as-needed basis to supplement internal capacity during peak volumes and must be performed entirely off-site at the contractor's commercial facility. The contract has a base term from December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027, with options for two additional one-year renewals. The estimated annual value is up to 35,000 dollars, with a total estimated value of 105,000 dollars over three years. The district intends to award contracts to up to two bidders, a primary and a secondary vendor, based on the lowest responsive and responsible bid price. To be deemed responsible, vendors must have at least 10 consecutive years of experience in school bus or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, be an authorized service facility for Thomas Built Buses or Blue Bird Body Company, and be located within 35 driving miles of Weston, Massachusetts. Additionally, bidders must provide three professional references from the last five years. Technical requirements include lead technicians with ASE Master School Bus or Heavy Duty Truck certifications and drivers with a CDL Class A or B including Passenger and School Bus endorsements. Diagnostics for disabled vehicles must be completed within 24 hours of delivery to the shop.
