Infectious Disease Specialist This requirement is for: The Correctional Service of Canada, Ontario Region Trade agreement: This procurement is not subject to any trade agreement. Policy on Reciprocal Procurement: This solicitation is open only to Canadian suppliers. Competitive Procurement Strategy: lowest priced compliant bid Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business: This procurement is not subject to any set-asides for Indigenous Suppliers. Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: This procurement is not subject to a Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement. Security Requirements: This contract includes security requirements. Nature of Requirements: The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement. The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide the services of an Infectious Disease Specialist for Ontario Federal Institutions within the Ontario Region. Objectives: Provide timely, efficient clinical infectious disease services to the inmates of the Ontario Region (referred to in this notice as patients) as an Infectious Disease Physician (IDP). To provide sessions and clinics to patients in person or through approved remote clinics according to the schedule determined between the Project Authority and the Contractor, to ensure sufficient coverage, and provide timely and appropriate care to patients, while ensuring that clinic efficiency is optimized. Deliverables: At the request of the project authority, the contractor must: a) Conduct Infectious Disease Clinics and provide assessment and treatment recommendations for patients. b) Enter relevant information such as examination, assessment, diagnostic investigation, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up assessment and treatment, and medication recommended in the Electronic Medical Record. c) Provide integrated, trauma informed, culturally appropriate specialist health services to patients, as requested by the Project Authority, consistent with the Performance standards outlined in this statement of work and changes to policy, guidelines and performance standards the Health Services Executive Committee approves during the contract period. d) Consult and collaborate with contracted and other external health care professionals involved in the patient’s care, as requested. e) Collaborate with the Project Authority, the Health Services Team and Correctional Staff to promote interdisciplinary teamwork and ensure safe, effective and efficient operation of clinics to achieve quality standards and goals the National Health Professional Advisory Committee has agreed to and Health Services Executive Committee approved . f) Request community consultation with medical specialists for essential services as required and consistent with community standards. g) Provide advice on clinical infectious disease protocols including medical directives, at the National Health Professional Advisory Committee’s, Health Services Executive Committee’s or other health services’ committees request . h) Provide annual educational sessions, as requested, on infectious diseases to Correctional Service Canada staff. i) Participate as requested in the organizational response to infectious disease outbreaks by working collaboratively with the Regional Physician Lead, Primary Care, the National Infectious Disease Advisor, Regional Manager Public Health and Health Services Senior Officials. j) Report to the Project Authority, by telephone with a follow-up email copied to the Chief of Health Services of the applicable institution, any issues that need to be immediately addressed.
