AI Contract Overview
The contract involves the procurement of four Infinium Methylation EPIC v2 kits, each designed to process 96 samples, from the vendor. These kits are to be used specifically for a research study conducted by the Center for Research on Genomics and Global Health, which aims to investigate differential methylation patterns in a participant cohort. The methylation arrays, produced by Illumina, enable genome-wide methylation analysis and will be processed at the NHGRI Genomics Core using specialized equipment such as the Illumina iScan, Autoloader, and Tecan Liquid Handling Robot to ensure efficient and automated sample handling. The government is responsible for storing the kits under manufacturer-recommended environmental conditions and using them according to the prescribed instructions to maintain their integrity. This procurement is a one-time order expected to support genotyping activities completed within one year. The contract, posted by the National Institutes of Health at their Bethesda, Maryland location, is part of a presolicitation process with a response deadline set in June 2026. The goal is to facilitate high-quality methylation genotyping critical to the ongoing genomic research project sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Full Description
Contractor Requirements:
- The vendor shall provide (4) Infinium Methylation EPIC v2 kits (96-sample kits)
Government Responsibilities:
2. At all times keep the genotyping kits will be stored in the environmental conditions recommended by the manufacturer.
- Use the genotyping kits in accordance with such instructions and recommendations relating to care and operation as may be issued by the manufacturer.
- Background:
- The Center for Research on Genomics and Global Health is conducting a study to explore the differential methylation among a cohort of individuals using Illumina’s Infinium Methylation EPIC v2 beadchip kits.
- Purpose and Objectives:
- This order is for methylation arrays produced and manufactured by Illumina. These beadchips are designed specifically for studying methylation changes across the genome. The methylation beadchips will be implemented as part of a study conducted by the Center for Research on Genomics and Global Health exploring methylation status of genes among participants previously recruited. The methylation genotypes will be generated by the NHGRI Genomics Core which has the necessary equipment and expertise for efficient processing of Illumina SNP beadchips. The Core has an Illumina iScan, Illumina Autoloader, and a Tecan Liquid Handling Robot for automated processing of samples.
- This is a one-time-use product, and the genotyping is expected to be completed within 1-year.
